Magik Theatre's
THE JUNGLE BOOK.

Based on the 1894 classic children's novel by Rudyard Kipling, THE JUNGLE BOOK is a collection of stories that tell the tale of Mowgli, a human child adopted and raised by wolves in an Indian jungle.
In this new musical by David Morgan and Jaimc Ramircz, Kipling's tale is brought vividly to life. Children will lie amazed as the theater is transformed into an exotic jungle, ripe with mystery, drama, action and surprises of this beloved tale.
At The Magik Theatre, irnagination is education. Since the first curtain rose in 1994, Magik has played to over 1.3 million people. With a mission to promote theatre and literacy, Magik has gained a reputation lor innovative, original, literature-based productions. As San Antonio's only professional resident rrpcrtory theatre, Magik is home to a dedicated and talented company of artists and technicians. Beyond productions, Magik has developed an impressive array of arts education outreach programs for children of all ages and circumstances, including Acting & Creativity Academy, AccessAbility, X-celerated Theatre, and Shakespeare Speaks, a free in-school workshops for teens that lead up to Shakespeare in the Park, a free annual festival co-produced by Magik.

American Family Theater returns with its award-winning musical of this classic family favorite. All new songs, "Imagine", "The Wolf Dance" and "Start with One Small Step", lead us on Beauty's journey. Follow Beauty's father as he is chased by wolves and faces the Beast. You're there when Beauty's love for her father causes her to become trapped in the Beast's castle. Beauty's adventures at the castle help her to discover the goodness within the Beast and lead her to the magical moment when the Beast becomes a handsome prince.

Inspired by the big theatrical success STOMP, Street Beat KIDZ present a program of ‘found’ percussion.
Their message:, “When every thing becomes percussive, that can carry over into the way we live our lives – everything has possibilities beyond its limits.”
Arts Learning Plan: Students will learn the elements of percussion, how to recycle and how to be creative with the use of left over items. Our performances allow students to understand musical concepts such as steady beat, stage presence & energy. |
