Good lovin’ summertime anthems and country ballads are the centerpiece of Texas singer/songwriter Jack Ingram’s music, marking him as one of the “next generation” to fill the boots of Lone Star legends like Willie and Waylon. With great vocals and hard-hitting lyrics, his swimming hole party tune “Barefoot & Crazy” is a remarkable crowd pleaser, as is his knock-down “Barbie Doll,” both distinctly different in spirit, but true to Ingram’s honky tonk country vibe. So is Ingram’s wonderfully breezy and uplifting “Free,” his inspiring, head-bopping “That’s A Man,” his textured “Seeing Stars,” and his satisfying ballad “Not Giving Up On Me.” Additional country favorites and Top 40 hit recordings are “Love You,” “Measure of a Man,” “Maybe She’ll Get Lonely,” and his first tune to reach #1 on the Billboard charts, “Wherever You Are.”

Ingram, a Houston native who cut his teeth touring with his Beat Up Ford Band, won the Academy of Country Music award for “Best New Male Vocalist” in 2008 when the Nashville critics first paid him notice. But his many thousands of “Jack Pack” fans were surely smiling to themselves about that whole “new” title award thing. They knew the performance veteran accepting that trophy had been rocking roadhouses, hootenannies, theaters and stadiums relentlessly since 1997. His musical integrity and ultimate commercial success can be heard on his 14 studio and live album recordings: Big Dreams and High Hopes, Lonesome Questions, Hey You, Acoustic Motel, Wherever You Are (Live), Young Man, Electric, This Is It, Live At Billy Bob’s Texas, Barbie Doll, Livin’ Or Dyin’, Live At Adair’s, Live at Gruene Hall: Happy Happy, and the self-titled Jack Ingram.

Catch Ingram live at the Spencer Theater where he appears with band members
Austin Morgan on guitar, John Schoepf on bass and Pete Coatney on drums.
