A musical adaptation of the favorite holiday tale by Valentine Davies, made famous by the 1947 Edmund Gwenn, Maureen O’Hara and John Payne movie of the same name.
It’s the story of the year when a nice old man who claims to be Kris Kringle – a.k.a. Santa Claus – is institutionalized as insane, and a young lawyer decides to defend him by arguing in court that he is the real thing. In the meantime, two lost souls find each other and a little girl, who has doubts about childhood’s most enduring miracle, meets the quixotic old Kringle at Macy’s (the friendly store to shop!) and ultimately discovers dreams do come true… if you really believe.
This stage version, featuring a cast of 25 singers and dancers, comes to the Spencer from Gurtman & Murtha Artists Management of New York City.
