Kind of a Drag, Hey Baby (They’re Playing Our Song) rockers still led by Carl Giammarese.
There’s a difference between a re-creation of a famous original rock group, and the real thing.
The Buckinghams are still the real deal.
The Chicago teens were so young when Kind of a Drag went to number one on the national charts in February, 1967, that two of the group (including lead singer Carl Giammarese) are still rocking to both a loyal old, and new, following.
Performing with a signature blazing horn section, this quintet has an array hits including Hey Baby (They’re Playing Our Song), Don’t You Care, Mercy, Mercy, Mercy and Susan. The group has appeared on every major stage and television show from American Bandstand to Entertainment Tonight and has steady rotational airplay on classic rock and satellite radio.
While part of rock ‘n’ roll history, today The Buckinghams have put heavy emphasis on reestablishing themselves as a major recording group. The title of their 2005 CD was Live and Well. Last year they released Reaching Back.
